Applications have opened for various summer 2019 Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) programs funded by the National Science Foundation. Some of these opportunities follow below.

• REU, Boulder Solar Alliance. For undergrads interested in space-based topics. App deadline: late Jan 2019.
• REU, North Carolina State University. For undergrads in computer science and engineering. App deadline: Jan 27, 2019.
• Growing Up STEM: An REU in Discipline-Based Education Research, North Dakota State University. For undergrads interested in STEM education. App deadline: Feb 1, 2019.
• Transfer-to-Excellence REU, University of California, Berkeley. For California community college students in science and engineering. App deadline: Feb 1, 2019.
• Monterey Bay Regional Ocean Science REU, California State University-Monterey Bay. For second- and third-year undergrads interested in marine biology, ecology, and geology; oceanography; and ocean engineering. App deadline: Feb 11, 2019.
• Math and Statistics REU, James Madison University. For undergrads interested in algebra, geology, geometry, mathematical modeling, and statistics. Application deadline: Feb 21, 2019.
• Various REUs in Nanotechnology, various application deadlines.
