2019 INVITATIONAL SUMMER INSTITUTE

Interested in Improving Writing
Twelve outstanding teachers will be selected to attend the Oklahoma Writing Project 2019 Invitational Summer Institute to be held at the Moore Norman Technology Center
Franklin Campus Norman on June 3-6; 10-13; and 17-21, 2019. Teachers of all subject areas and of all levels of instruction--kindergarten through university--interested in teaching composition
or incorporating writing into their regular subject matter instruction may apply. The important consideration is a strong commitment to teaching of composition and helping students' understanding through writing. Teachers selected for the institute
receive a $1000 stipend.
Summer Institute Interviews will be held Saturday, March 9 beginning at 8:30 am in the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education, Collings Hall. Interviews
are a required part of the application process. Bring student writing samples.
2018 OWP Summer Institute will hold a 2 Day Orientation held on the OU Campus in Norman (Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education, Collings Hall) on Saturday,
April 6 from 8:30 am-4:00 pm and April 27 from 8:30 am-4:00pm. It is mandatory accepted applicants attend BOTH days.

OWP Invitational Summer Institute will be held at the Moore-Norman Technology Center Franklin Campus 4701 12th Avenue NW Norman, OK 73069
2019 Power of Teaching Symposiun, Friday, June 21 from 8:00-11:30 am.
2019 Fellowship Luncheon, Friday, June 21 at a local restaurant following the symposium.
2019 OWP Back-to-School Drive-in Workshop on August 10 from 8:30 am-12:30 pm at Bryant Elementary School
2019 OWP Luncheon and Anthology Signing Party, August 10 from 1:00-2:00pm at a local restaurant.
COLLEGE CREDIT
The Summer Institute will be held full days, June 3-6; 10-13; and 17-20. Sessions will meet from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p. m. June 21 sessions will only be 8:30-12:30. Participants may enroll for six graduate credit
hours in EDEN 5303. Grades (S/U) for three of the hours will be awarded at the end of the Summer Institute. Grades for the remaining three hours will be awarded upon completion of all Summer Institute requirements, including participation as a presenter
at an Oklahoma Writing Project Drive-In Conference.
