Hi Jarrod and Jorge,

This Sunday from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM is the ARRL Rookie RTTY roundup.   I've been somewhat interested in contesting, and this seemed like a decent place to get a start.  Thank you both for being interested in joining in the attempt, others are certainly welcome to come participate or hang out as well if you decide to.  As I think all of us qualify for Rookie status by the rules, we become the focus of everyone else's RTTY searching!   With the use of the NWC antenna, we should have a pretty great signal to use.

• Our exchange should be: "*Call of station worked* DE KI5AIF THOMAS 18 OKLAHOMA".   I think if you are operating under my call, you can put your name in, but the call should stay the same? (Mr. Laws please check me here)
• I have the MMTTY software installed, and I'm mostly sure it's working right, though I couldn't find a RTTY station to talk with when I set it up last.
• I have already printed the score sheets and score summary sheet.
  
• For simplicity I would like to use my call (KI5AIF) in our "multi operator" entry.
• I am extra class, so we should be able to reply to all legal signals.  (chart is in the room for reference)
• I will bring my radio box up to the NWC Saturday afternoon at 1:00 to hook it up, and hopefully do a few trial RTTY conversations at 2:00 PM to make sure it's working well.  The box will be able to meet the 100W power limit of the contest.
  
• I plan to arrive at the radio room no later than 12:30 Sunday to get settled and ready (bring some snacks)
  

My idea on how we can be more competitive as a group:

Please Bring your laptop so that while one person is operating the radio, others can:

• Browse various webSDR's for signals we haven't worked.  ( you should be able to set it up to work with a RTTY decode software like (MMTTY) through use of virtual audio cable)
• Monitor spotting networks for RTTY stations

• What do you think the best way to turn these spots into a radio operator que is?
• Use your own SDR and an antenna on the NWC roof to detect stations (careful we don't blow your SDR out with the beam).   Use at your own risk!
