Estelle Brodman Award for the Academic Health Sciences Librarian of the Year

Do you know a mid-year academic health sciences librarian who is an MLA member with outstanding contributions to academic health sciences librarianship? The Estelle Brodman Award jury is calling on the MLA membership to nominate a colleague for this award.

The Estelle Brodman Award for the Academic Health Sciences Librarian of the Year recognizes a mid-year academic health sciences librarian who demonstrates significant achievement, potential for leadership, and continuing excellence. Mid-year is defined as someone working at least 5 and not more than 16 years as an academic health sciences librarian. This award was established in 1968 in honor of Estelle Brodman’s exemplary career. Nominations for this award may reflect outstanding national or international contributions to academic health sciences librarianship as demonstrated by excellence in performance (leadership), publications, research, service, or a combination.

More information on the award, criteria, and nomination requirements can be found here.

Nominations are due October 15, 2023, 11:59 p.m. (CDT). Please contact the jury chair, Virgina Desouky, with questions.
