During MLA’s 125th anniversary year, we celebrate leaders who have paved the way to create an open, inclusive, and collaborative environment within and outside the profession of health sciences librarianship. Many of these leaders have not been publicly recognized, but still inspire us for their noteworthy and remarkable contributions to the profession and MLA.

MLA’s Most Notables Workgroup wishes to recognize members who have made notable contributions to the Association over the last 25 years (1998-2023). The workgroup invites you to nominate a person or group who has influenced the direction, mission, and values of MLA. Think about members who:

  • Have broken new ground and/or blazed new trails in terms of MLA’s structure and/or health sciences librarianship at large (via the organization)
  • Have been instrumental in moving us towards being more diverse and inclusive
  • Have established and promoted evolving aspects of medical and health sciences librarianship
  • Have advocated for our profession in significant ways

Do you know someone or a group, committee or task force who should be recognized for their notable and remarkable contributions?

Please SUBMIT YOUR NOMINATION(S) HERE by October 31, 2023.

Those selected as Notables by the MLA 125th Anniversary Notables Workgroup will be recognized through MLAConnect articles, on the 125th Anniversary website, and during the 2024 Annual Conference.

Your nominations will build upon MLA’s 100 Most Notables recognized throughout MLA’s Centennial Anniversary Year (1998).  The 1998 list which features former MIA Presidents, Marcia C. Noyes Award winners, and Janet Doe Lecturers, can be found here.
