The Substance Use Disorder Interest Group in partnership with Region One’s Insights Webinar Series, is hosting a webinar on Harm Reduction in Action: Language as Harm Reduction on October 31st from 2pm-3pm EST.  This webinar will focus on language as the first step to a positive interaction and the importance of person-centered language as a gateway into harm reduction practices and techniques and a way to build trust with people who use drugs.

The NNLM Reading Club is also focusing on Addiction and Recovery for the month of October. Check of the Reading Club | NNLM page to see their recommended books and supplemental materials.

Additionally, NNLM’s Substance Use Disorder Guide is a collection of trusted, high quality resources on substance use from the National Library of Medicine, other government agencies and non-profit groups.  The guide is broken down by audience and includes specific resources for general audiences, libraries, educators, community-based organizations, public health, and resources by age and population.  The guide also includes recordings of SUD focused webinars that have been sponsored by the NNLM.

Best wishes,

Dana
