In this 30-minute presentation followed by 30-minute workshop, attendees will assess the purpose of an abstract and
distinguish research study components from program descriptions. We will discuss MLA submission guidelines and MLA Research Award criteria. Attendees will download an abstract template to get started and will be encouraged to submit their abstract to MLA or
other professional conference of their choice.

Evaluate the purpose of an abstract, emphasize awareness of deadlines, submission criteria, evaluation rubrics and distinguish research study from program description abstract components

Presenter Bios:
Lindsay Blake, MLIS, AHIP is currently the Clinical Services Librarian at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Lindsay is also the Chair of MLA's Research Caucus.
Emily Vardell, MLS, PhD, AHIP is an Associate Professor in the School of Library and Information Management at Emporia
State University. Emily is also the National Program Committee Co-chair for the MLA 2024 Annual Meeting.
