The
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Odessa, TX, is hiring for an
Unit Assistant Director
This on-site Faculty Associate position is part of the Libraries of the Health Sciences at the Permian Basin and reports to the Unit Associate Director/Regional Library Director.
Major/Essential Functions of the Position
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree from an ALA (American Library Association) accredited institution required,
plus four years progressively responsible supervisory experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrates knowledge of ALA Core Competencies and Code of Ethics plus Library Bill of Rights. Enjoys working with diverse population. Able
to work independently, as well as with people. Able to anticipate problems, and be able to solve problems on a day-to-day basis. Excellent oral and communication skills are essential. Able to be respectful of differences, and have the ability to see problems
from a variety of perspectives. Must be able to perform to the highest degree of standards. Organization and detailed-minded & orientation is necessary. Also, Computer literate, and the ability to manage people and projects, plus have a basic knowledge of
medical/health informatics.
