OSCER users,

OSCER Scheduled maintenance partial outage
Mon July 14 4:00pm - Tue July 15 5:00pm Central Time

Affected systems: Supercomputer, home1 users only (~50%)

In order to minimize risk and disruption for users on home1,
we've decided to do the software rollback this coming
Tuesday (July 15), with user access to home1
shutting off Mon July 14 4:00pm Central Time,
in order to do the final copy of user files (to avoid data loss).

We expect to complete the work by no later than Tue July 15
5:00pm Central Time (though hopefully sooner).

Once home1 is returned to production, we'll keep a close eye
on it, in case there are any unexpected outcomes.

Please note that, until we complete this maintenance,
there's a high probability of further home1 failures of
the same kind as we've recently experienced.

We'll try to resolve those quickly, though some it's likely that
some will occur outside business hours, in which case
we'll be slower to resolve them.

As always, we apologize for the trouble.
