IMPACT 2022 Offers teachers opportunity to collaborate with ELA Standards and best literacy practices.
This conference will host two tracks Early Childhood and Elementary.  This will allow for targeted discussion with teachers.  All presentations are lead by current classroom teachers.  Come join the dialogue!  Reserve you seat today!  All participants leave with a printed bound copy of ELA Oklahoma Academic Standards and session packet of ideas ready to use in the classroom.

Early Childhood (Target Audience PreK-2nd Grade)Session 1: Where to Begin?-What does Writing Look Like in Early Childhood ClassroomsThis session will help teachers implement new ELA standards while using strategies of any early childhood classroom.  Participants will collaborate about the challenges in Oklahoma classrooms and appropriate child development expectations.  Participants will learn how to incorporate strong literacy practices into existing classrooms.
Session 2: Help the Pigeon Learn To Write!This session will explore the wonderful world of Mo Willems and Laura Joffe Numeroff  as teachers use modeling to turn young children into experienced writers.  Participants will fall in love with "The Pigeon" and "Knufflebunny" to bring stories alive.  Participants will see how Numeroff's circle stories can create confidence in early childhood classrooms.  Participants will leave with strategies to implement immediately! 
Elementary (Target Audience 3rd-5th)
Session 1: Come Grow with the New ELA Standards
Do you know what’s new? Participants will grow their knowledge as we examine the major shifts in the new ELA standards and how they apply to your specific grade level. Build a vision of a proficient student based on the 2021 ELA standards and expand your knowledge and vocabulary to successfully implement the standards.

Session 2: Fertilize your Instruction to Grow Student Knowledge.
Building on our knowledge from the first session, participants will engage in hands-on activities that can be immediately implemented in the classroom. Learn to incorporate writing-to-learn to improve reading comprehension and cross-curricular connections, explore safe writing frames to scaffold students, graphic organizers, and more.
