The draft report will be available for public review starting Friday, August 10, 2012. We would like a wide range of perspectives and feedback to inform the final guidelines document.

We would appreciate it if you could review the document and provide comment. We also request that you consider sharing the link to the guidelines with others, and if you have a website, we encourage you to post the link below to let others know about the public comment period.

Suggested wording for a link on your website: A draft of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute-sponsored Expert Panel Report on the Management of Sickle Cell Disease is available for public comment August 10 through August 31, 2012 and can be accessed at www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/scd/index.htm<http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/scd/index.htm>

Please let me know if you have questions or need additional information.

The draft will not be available until Friday, August 10, 2012, but the page that will contain the draft is live.

Sincerely,

Greg Lavine
