Announcement:  Intensive Course in Cancer Genetics 2008 (third annual
course 
offering)

The City of Hope Department of Clinical Cancer Genetics Cancer Genetics 
Education Program is now accepting applications for its annual intensive

interdisciplinary training course in cancer risk assessment.

The course combines traditional and distance learning methods to address
the 
needs of working clinicians, while providing interdisciplinary training,

clinical support and research networking.

Phase 1 - Distance Learning Modules with weekly Web Conference
discussion 
sessions January 14 to March 4, 2008 (8 weeks)
Phase 2 - Interactive cancer genetics workshops on the City of Hope
campus 
March 10 to 14, 2008 (5 Days)
Phase 3 - Continued post-course learning, clinical and research support
via 
Web Board and Web Conferencing activities (One Year)

Upon course completion, participants will be able to:
*	Integrate cancer genetics and oncology knowledge into clinical
practice
*	Apply skills commensurate with practitioner-level proficiency
into the 
cancer risk assessment and case management process
*	Participate in collaborative cancer genetics research activities
*	Incorporate web-based resources into ongoing practice-based
education, 
professional development and research network support
*	Participate in a web-based forum for continuing education
