We are seeking a Research Computing and Data Platforms
Manager to join the NIWA team.

This position would also have a role within the national team
of NeSI (New Zealand eScience Infrastructure).

The NIWA Research Computing and Data Platforms team is
responsible for ensuring that NIWA and NeSI's research
computing infrastructure, platforms, and associated services
are operating reliably, efficiently, and are effective at
meeting the needs of end-users and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities of the team include:

* Implementing, maintaining, and managing automation in
research computing and data platform infrastructure

* Designing, specifying, and planning the technical
implementation of new research computing and data services
as well as enhancements to existing services

* Ensuring all software and operating systems are up-to-date
and proactively managed

* Ensuring that hardware systems and incidents are being
well-managed, actively monitored, and equipment repaired or
replaced should issues arise

Demonstrated organizational skills, competence in technical
management along with people management and professional
leadership capabilities are essential.

Applicants will need to be commercially aware, have
a commitment to customer service and be adept at planning.

Strategic thinking, good communications skills and competence
in relationship building are also required.
