Guess what???? Another internship opportunity.




Dear Colleague,

The Department of Microbiology at The University of Iowa is pleased to announce a summer research opportunity for talented undergraduates interested in a career in the biological sciences.  Please pass this information on to your students.

Here is what we offer:
&#8226                An intensive, mentored research experience doing cutting-edge science.
&#8226                A co-curriculum that includes research seminars, field trips and several interactive workshops-poster preparation, research ethics, graduate school, and career opportunities.
&#8226                A $5,250 stipend.
&#8226                Housing, food allowance, and travel paid by the program (not the stipend).
&#8226                Social activities include a BBQ, excursions, and an end-of-summer banquet.
&#8226                The program culminates with a campus-wide poster session with over 150 participants.
&#8226
To be eligible for the program, students must be:
&#8226                Enrolled at a college or university and majoring in a biological science.
&#8226                In their sophomore or junior year at the time of application.
&#8226                Interested in graduate school and a career in biological research.
&#8226                A US citizen or permanent resident (hold a green card).
&#8226                Prior research experience is NOT a requirement.
&#8226                Students from underrepresented groups or colleges that do not have extensive research programs are especially encouraged to apply.

The 2015 program will begin May 26 and end on July 31 (10-week program).
