Subject: Amazing Overseas Graduate Program!

Actually Andres and Nick sent this information to OSU last year. So If you need some one-on-one information you could contact them also.

But this could be fun and rewarding.

Subject: Amazing Overseas Graduate Program!

Dear University Representatives,

My name is Suzanne Coveley and I am currently earning a M2 degree (mostly equivalent to an American Master's degree in Science) at the University of Joseph Fourier in Grenoble, France, through the GRAL Labex M2 Research Scholarship program.

I first learned about this opportunity last May in 2015 via an email from the OSU College of Arts & Sciences titled "Tremendous Overseas Opportunity." Among the many applicants, I was chosen! I was completely awestruck! And I am still amazed by this program every single day!

As is outlined in the attachments, the M2 degree consists of 4 months of upper-level science courses taught in English, and 6 months spent in a research lab. Livia Merendino, a researcher within the lab group I am assigned to, is working on an amazing tagging and isolation project using the model plant organism Arabidopsis thaliana. Dr. Merendino is incredibly upbeat, highly-experienced in plant biology and many pertinent laboratory techniques, and a superb mentor to all the graduate students in the lab. Not only would the lucky applicant learn so much from her, but they would also have the pleasure of getting to know a wonderful woman as well.

I have attached the contact information for the GRAL Labex M2 Scholarship and Dr. Merendino's research proposal to this email. Applications are due by April 1st, 2016; the student chosen for the M2 scholarship receives 800 euros for 10 months (8000 euros total). Celine Guillouet ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) is the manager in charge of the scholarship and has been extremely helpful throughout this entire process. Whoever receives next year's scholarship will be in good hands and like myself, will love every minute of it!

Here is a link to the GRAL Labex M2 research scholarship website which offers more information, including registering with the University: http://www.labex-gral.fr/master-2-research-scolarship-program/

You may also contact me concerning any questions about my M2 experience; my email is [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

Thank you, and please get the word out!

Regards,
Suzanne Coveley
