Dear Colleagues,

The Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics is pleased to announce it will be hosting a three day conference entitled "Latina/os in the Mathematical Sciences <http://ipam.ucla.edu/lat2015> " which will take place on April 9-11, 2015 at the UCLA campus. It will feature talks by junior and senior researchers, as well as events for undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows. There will be plenary lectures, community lectures, panel discussions, and activities to facilitate networking. The goal of the conference is to encourage Latina/os to pursue careers in the mathematical sciences, to promote the advancement of Latina/os currently in the discipline, to showcase research being conducted by Latina/os at the forefront of their fields, and, finally, to build a community around shared academic interests.

We encourage you to disseminate this announcement to your network of contacts. It is a wonderful opportunity for academics and students at all levels in their mathematical career to attend as it will provide an invaluable networking and professional development opportunity! To be considered for funding, please submit an application form through Mathprograms.org<https://www.mathprograms.org/db/programs/283> by February 9, 2015. Local (housing) support and limited travel grants are available for successful junior applicants in need of financial assistance to attend the conference. Travel support to faculty is limited; faculty members who propose to bring a group of students will be given priority. (Please indicate this on the application.)

For additional information, please see the attached flyer and visit the conference webpage at: www.ipam.ucla.edu/lat2015<http://www.ipam.ucla.edu/lat2015>.

We look forward to your participation!

Best regards,
Stacy
