Hi folks -

We have two events coming up in very short order for which we need a number of volunteers.

1) ARRL's School Club Roundup contest will be the week of Oct. 15-19! As a school-affiliated club, it is very important that we get on the air and make as many contacts as possible! All the HF equipment is already set up; all you have to do is put your butt in the seat and log some contacts! Never contested before? No problem! It's easy, and we'll show you how. The contest runs from 1300 UTC (8 a.m.) Monday to 0000 UTC Friday (7 p.m. Thursday). More info can be found here: http://www.arrl.org/SCR/ and here: http://www.arrl.org/contests/rules/2007/scr/scr.pdf

2) The National Weather Festival will occur on Saturday, Oct. 20th from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. We have registered a special event station for this event and will operate from the front lawn of the NWC (in conjunction with SCARS and NWCARC) starting at 9 a.m. We need folks to assist with setup starting about 8 a.m. at the shack, with logging contacts throughout the festival, and also with take-down afterward. We may also continue to operate the special event station after 1 p.m. if there is sufficient interest. NWF info here: http://www.norman.noaa.gov/nwf07/

If you can help with either of these events, even just for a couple of hours, please send an e-mail to Jerrod at [log in to unmask] !

Thanks!
