Robin mentions testing in the agenda.
SCARS will have a regular "Thursday before the 2nd Saturday" test session
on Feb 8, @ 1830, up at FS 7 on North Base. This is the LAST opportunity
to pass a Morse code test in Norman, likely ever (unless slimy aliens
invade and we suddenly need more Morse ops).
On Feb 23, the first day of the new rules, SCARS will also hold an
appointment-only session at the same location. At 1800, folks who are
Technicians and hold a VALID CSCE for Element 3, or Elements 3 and 4, may
present those CSCEs for a new CSCE that grants new privileges. Operation
under new privileges may begin at that point, but NOT BEFORE.
At 1900 on the same date, a regular test session will be held for folks who
are itching to get on HF but have waited.
Due to anticipated demand, the 2/23 sessions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Go
to http://www.w5nor.org/ and find your way to the signup form to get in line.
What about Technicians that didn't ever pass the Morse test and choose to
do nothing? Ha. Well, you get new privileges anyway. So there! Starting
on 2/23, ANY Technician has access to the following:
3525 - 3600 kHz - CW
7025 - 7125 kHz - CW
21025 - 21200 kHz - CW
28000 - 28500 kHz - CW
28000 - 28300 kHz - Data
28300 - 28500 kHz - SSB Voice
