* UIUC: Public Speaking *

Full-time Lecturer or Instructor

The Department of Communication at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign invites applications for one full-time Lecturer or
Instructor.  Candidates with Ph.D. by time of appointment will be
reviewed as a Lecturer; Master’s or ABD candidates will be reviewed as
an Instructor.

A Master’s and/or Ph.D. in Communication and at least 2 years of
college-level teaching are required. A preferred qualification is
experience working with underrepresented students, first-generation
students, and/or students from disadvantaged economic backgrounds.  The
primary assignment will be to teach 8 sections of CMN 101 (Public
Speaking) per year.

Successful candidates will join departmental colleagues with varied

This is a nine-month benefits-eligible position including health, dental,
and life insurance benefits, as well as participation in the State
Universities Retirement System (SURS).  Eligibility for the listed

Salary is based on experience and degree earned. Target start date is
August 16, 2015.
