Dear OWP TC's--

The OWP governing board announces that the Oklahoma
Writing Project is offering an Advanced Institute this
summer for teacher consultants. The goal is to build
teams to take writing conferences or series on the
road across the state.

The teams would focus on teaching themes--for example,
Pre-K through 1st grade; Pre-Service and First Year
Teachers, Preparing for Writing Assessment (and/or Six
Traits); Writing across the Curriculum; ELL; and of
course, other ideas you may have.

We have enough money to pay 15 teachers a $300 stipend
for three days--June 18-20. Priscilla plans to
co-direct and will be taking applications for
co-director. The Advanced Institute would be held
concurrently with the Summer Institute. Tom Romano
will be speaking in Moore June 21 to both groups.

If you are interested in serving on the committee or
being a part of the advanced institute, please respond
to this e-mail. We already have several volunteers
from the governing board. We will then schedule a
planning meeting to discuss our goals for the
institute, do some brainstorming about how to best use
our time. Also let us know if you're interested in
co-directing the Insittute.

Let me know if you have questions.

Janis
