Teachers,
Attached you will find the 5th/8th grade Writing Parent, Student, Teacher guide.  Within this document you will find valuable information such as test taking tips, how the writing test is scored, and a practice writing test.
I haven't seen these posted to the SDE website yet. I obtained these straight from the test company website.
There are sample prompts/papers included in these guides.  
Hope this helps as your prepare your students for the writing assessment.
