2022 OWP SI Applications


Applications are now being accepted for the 2022 Oklahoma Writing Project Invitational Summer Institute.

Summer Institute*** is scheduled for June 13-16, June 20-23, June 27-29, and June 30. We will be meeting in person at OU’s Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education (Collings Hall) Building from 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.


Are you ready to participate? Just fill out our application!


Application Deadline February 18, 2022. Applicants invited to interview will receive an appointment sign-up email by February 25, 2022.


Stipend: Up to $750 stipend for each participant who completes all the required components of OWP Summer Institute. (Only 15 stipends will be awarded. To receive full stipend, participants will have to complete each item of the syllabus, as well as be a positive contributor to the group.)

Date: March 5, 2022 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Location: OU Norman Campus, Collings Hall


Two OWP Summer Institute Orientations

Dates: April 30, 2022 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and May 21, 2022 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

Location: OU Norman Campus, Collings Hall 


Oklahoma Writing Project Summer Institute

Dates: June 13-16, June 20-23, June 27-29, and June 30th 

Location: OU's Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education (Collings Hall)

*During the institute, Fellows should plan to arrive between 8:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. each morning.


IMPORTANT: Start saving your student writing samples now. You will need student samples for your interview and during the Summer Institute. Be sure and save high/low ability examples from your writing lessons. Originals are great but copies are fine. At the interview, you will bring your professional vita and some of your student writing samples.

***We’d like to reiterate that we are still in the planning stages and are closely monitoring COVID cases and CDC recommendations. We will adjust our plans accordingly should new information and guidelines be issued between now and June.
