Oklahoma Writing Project is receiving applications for presentation/writing coaches for the 2010 Invitational Summer Institute. The ISI is held during the month of June. In addition there are two pre-institute Saturday meetings during April and May; one post-institute Saturday meeting before school starts in the fall; and the fall drive-in conference in which coaches participate. The stipend for coaching is $1500.

If you are interested in participating as a coach complete answers to the questions below and submit via email to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. Include in the Subject line: Coach Application for 2010 Invitational Summer Institute.

Applications are due via email by July 12, 2008.

1. What grade level and subject do you currently teach?

2. How have you been involved in OWP since you went through the summer institute?

3. What strength do you feel you can bring to the summer institute?

4. What is your understanding of the mentoring job?

5. Would you be able to attend the National Writing Project Annual Meeting, November 19-21, 2010 in Philadelphia, if given a partial travel grant? (Note: The NWP Annual Meeting provides a venue for teacher-leaders from writing project sites throughout the country to learn from each other and become familiar with national trends and issues that affect the teaching of writing.)

6. Have you recruited someone to attend the SI in the past? If so, who?
