NOW is the time to pick up the Self Assessment form outside my office
(across the hall) and turn in on March 21st in order to qualify for a
Premed/Predental Committee Interview this summer.  Dental interviews
(combined with optometry interviews) will be held in May and June,
chaired by Dr. William Ortiz-Leduc.  Premedical and Prepodiatric
Committee Interviews will be held in May through August, with August
interview times being held for those who will be out of the country
during the May-July time-frame.  Premed Committees are chaired by a
variety of faculty, but Dawna Nelson or Nancy Blass also sit on the
committee, along with 2 other faculty members from a variety of
disciplines on campus.

The Committee Interviews provide applicants with a Letter of
Evaluation, which is considered a stronger letter than recommendations,
since most people will go to someone they “know will give them a good
recommendation.”  This Letter of Evaluation is worth 2 Letters of
Recommendation when applying to your program.  Feedback from the
interview can be obtained from committee members following the
interview, which can be very beneficial prior to interviewing with the
medical or dental schools.

If there are questions, stop by the Premed Advising Office, RH 209 and
talk with Nancy, or email her at [log in to unmask]
