I'm happy to check it out! Congrats on such an amazing achievement. I think that is such a great idea to implement a supportive culture among all the PW students. The majority of us will probably have to utilize Kindle. Thanks for leading the way!
Good luck!

Subject: My novel is available on Kindle. Care to help me out? Also some tips for everyone...

Hello, PWA friends,

I'm a 2001 and 2003 graduate of the OU J school (bachelor's and master's). I am currently working on a publishing venture for my juvenile fiction novel, The Ghost Glimpser. I have encountered various publishers (usually the smaller companies) who are willing to talk publishing if a new author is willing to help with self promotion and most recently, I had some positive feedback after I agreed to publish on Kindle (for free). The point is for the publisher to see that people are willing to pay for your work. That is the point I'm at now. I'm taking a chance, and I wanted to pass on that it is quite easy to get started publishing on Kindle. Just go to amazon.com to the Kindle menu, and you will find a tab that says "publish on Kindle." From there, you follow directions, and you are on your way.

The price for my novel's Kindle edition is only $2.99—the lowest price I can charge for this particular format. I would love your support, because (and I assume we have this in common), writing and publishing fiction has long been a goal in my life. Right now, the only way the book is available is on Kindle, but keep in mind, Kindle documents can be turned into PDF files and printed if you want to share the book with someone who doesn’t own a Kindle.

Please pass on the word to anyone who might be interested—the goal is to reach as many readers as possible.

The target audience for this novel is ages 10-14, but I think older teens and adults can enjoy the story as well. I would love to hear from you about my work at [log in to unmask] Thanks for your time, and I hope you will spend a few dollars to help a hopeful writer or to share a fun story with a young reader. I’m really passionate about writing for this age group, since it’s about the time I fell in love with reading.

You can find the book on your Kindle or amazon.com by searching for my name or the title. Below is a synopsis of The Ghost Glimpser—a book that I hope will be the first in a series using this story line.

***
After a completely humiliating experience, which lands her in the emergency room, Cadence Pride, age 13, is shocked to learn she has a very special talent. She’s a Glimpser—someone who has the ability to see and talk to ghosts. After meeting her Ghost Guide, the brainy, know-it-all Minerva LeClaire, Cadence begins to understand she is a link between the living world and afterworld.

As a Glimpser, Cadence is assigned cases to help ghosts solve unresolved issues from their previous lives so they can officially move on to the afterworld. This all sounds thrilling to Cadence, but when she learns her first case will involve helping the school bully (the one who happens to be responsible for her emergency room fiasco) she isn’t so sure her new abilities are worth the trouble she finds.

The town of Common Creek doesn’t seem quite so common as Cadence pursues the case and encounters a shapeless creature with a terrifying message from beyond, battles a possessed computer, and is locked in an invisible prison by an evil ghost from the Fallen Realm who seeks to destroy the talent she is just beginning to develop.

Cadence realizes balancing junior high crises, friends, and family with her new duties may be too much for one teenager to handle, especially when she has to keep her Glimpsing activities a secret from everyone in the living world. Even if she and Minerva can crack the first case, there is the troubling matter of the ghosts from the Fallen Realm who had been silent for many years, but who suddenly find Cadence quite intriguing.
