Check out Oklahoma's upcoming literary events:

November 9 (5-7pm, Borders Books, Norman): A book signing in Norman with
some of the authors and editors of "Voices from the Heartland," including
former Cherokee principal chief Wilma Mankiller, First Lady Kim Henry,
novelist Billie Letts, and prima ballerina Maria Tallchief. The authors
share their personal reflections on finding balance as they look back on
defining moments in their lives, mull over what they wish they had learned
sooner, and convey the wisdom they've unearthed on their journeys thus far.

November 12 (7:30pm; Henry J. Freede Wellness and Activity Center, Oklahoma
City University): "An Evening with Edward Albee" (Albee is the Tony
Award-winning and Pulitzer Prize author of "Who's Afraid of Virginia
Woolf"). This event is free. NW 27th St. and Florida Ave.

Hope that you guys can take advantage of some ot these oppotunities.

Also (shameless plug), I was recently coaxed into being an officer in the
WLT Book Club. The book club meets once a month and discusses a book decided
upon by the officers. Last month we discussed Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth
Gilbert over coffee at Cafe Plaid (it was great).
This month our book is Norweign Wood by Haruki Murakami, and we will be
meeting on Thursday Nov. 29th, 8 PM at Cafe Plaid (on campus corner). We
have a small collection of books in the WLT offices (Monnet Hall room 110)
for students (free of charge- who can pass up a free book?). If you are
interested in participating in the club, stop by and pick up a book!
Also, check out the WLT Book Club facebook group. That's our primary way of
exchanging information.

Thanks for listening.
-Amanda
