Several people from the studio have now asked me about the upcoming Joie De
Vie Summer Dance. I would be very appreciative if you could pass on the
following to the Studio List:
1) If you aren't attending the Country Party at Shall We Dance on
Saturday, August 29, but are interested in other dancing opportunities, Joie De
Vie (http://JoieDeVie.Org), Oklahoma's oldest social dancing club would like
to invite any interested dancers to attend their final informal Summer
Dance on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.
There will be dancing to sounds of the Kip Curtis Combo from 8 pm to 11:00
pm; Cocktails (cash bar) and Hor's D'oeuvres (included) begin at 7 pm. As
this is the club's "Hawaiian Cruise Dance" for the Summer, attire is "cool
Hawaiian or country-club casual". Those of you who went to the Edmond dance
know that Kip Curtis does a great job playing for ballroom dancing. The fee
is $65 per couple or $32.50 for an individual for the evening. Attendance
is normally by invitation only or as a guest of a member, so if you are
interested, please contact Dan Glatzhofer at [log in to unmask], to make
arrangements to attend. Dan will need to know of your interest by 5 pm
Wednesday, August 19. The Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club is on Penn just a few
blocks north of NW 63rd.
2) People who aren't going on the Studio trip this weekend might be
interested to know that "Son del Barrio", who had a good chunk of Norman doing
Salsa, Merengue, and Cumbia at Andrews Park this past Sunday, will be
playing at Coaches in Norman this Saturday night at ca. 10 pm. Their appearance
is sponsored by the OU Salsa Club.
