Hello Sooner Ballroom Dancers!
First off: Call me (or e-mail me before 3:30) if you want to car-pool or need more information about any of these dances!

So. We have three (count 'em, 3)
different dance venues of various shapes and sizes that we're going out to tonight. The more you dance, the better you get, so choose the one that suits you best and get out there!

#1) Informal Dancing in Dale Hall: 8:00, Dale Hall, absolutely FREE

PERFECT if you're still a little timid about dancing, this event is
what happens when a bunch of club members and other ballroom
enthusiasts decide they want to get together to dance and share what they know on a Friday
night, but don't want to go far or pay anything
for it. :-D

Jenny, our VP, will be there along with a couple dozen other friendly faces.

It starts at 8:00 pm, is completely free, and goes
until they get tired of dancing (at least a few hours). Just walk into
Dale Hall (on the Southwest corner of the main campus) and follow your
ears to the music!

#2) Club 101: 7 pm, 12th & Robinson, $5 - a Club venue IN TOWN!

Club
101 has dances every fourth
Friday of the month, and it's a rockin' good time for those of you who
want to venture onto a real ballroom floor and enjoy a club atmosphere without the travel to OKC.

Our very own Advanced instructor, Kate Linkous, runs music from 7
pm to 9-ish and teaches a short beginner's class around 8. $5 gets you
in the door and covers you for the whole night at the club. She plays
music for all the partner dances, so no matter what type of ballroom
you know, you will hear music that you can dance to and there will be
people around who can teach you more. Try it!

#3) West Coast Swing Night: 6:30 lesson, 8:00 dance party, $5 for students, OKC Swing Club

This is where I'll be this evening. :-}

Every second and fourth Friday of the month, the OKC Ballroom Club has a Swing Practice Party at the OKC Swing Club, located at 4361 NW 50th St, Suite 400 in Oklahoma City. If you love swing, this is the place for you.

It starts with a West Coast Swing lesson at 6:30, and the actual dance party starts at 8. One group is leaving/car-pooling at around 7:30, but I'll leave closer to 6 if anyone wants to go to the lesson (call me if so - my car has four other seats).

CAR POOLING: I'll be on the first floor of the union, near the jukebox in the food court, at 5:45. If no one shows up or calls me by 6, I'll just hitch a ride with the 7:30 group, but if we're all there, we'll depart at 6! Also, if you just want to go for the party, let me know in time and I'll hook you up with the group leaving at that time.

See you tonight!
