We are on the lookout for a dynamic and enthusiastic professional to join our team, delivering information services, resources, tools, and training to the brilliant minds shaping research at Tulane University.
At Matas, we believe in the power of collaboration. Your position is at the forefront, catering to the scientific information needs of the School of Medicine, the School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine, the Tulane National Primate Research Center, and beyond. Engage in the art of collaboration, harmonizing with the main library on the uptown campus to create a seamless user experience.
The ideal candidate for this position should possess an ALA-accredited MLS or an equivalent degree. Essential qualifications include outstanding abilities in presentation, instruction, and both written and oral communication. Additionally, the candidate must showcase proficiency in utilizing pertinent information technologies, information management tools, and analytical and searching techniques. The most attractive candidate for this role will have at least one year of research support experience in an academic medical center or clinical or public health setting and demonstrated experience in the use of health sciences information resources.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1.  ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent graduate degree
2.  Excellent presentation and instruction skills with demonstrated written and oral communication skills
3.  Demonstrated proficiency in the use of relevant information technologies, information management tools, and analytical and searching techniques.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
*         Ability to work effectively with a variety of faculty, staff, students across the University, the health sciences centers, and the community at large.
*         Strong computer/technology skills
*         Demonstrated teaching/instruction experience
*         Excellent writing and oral communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
*         One year of research support and instruction experience in an academic medical information center or clinical or public health setting
*         Demonstrated experience in the use of health sciences information resources, clinical resources & tools
*         Experience with emerging information technology hardware and software.
*         Bachelor's or graduate degree in the life or biomedical sciences, public health, or related field.
*         Any certification/documentation in advanced or specialized user service training.
