Job Summary
The manager for health science services leads a team that supports students and researchers at the College of Nursing and Health Innovation and School of Social Work. This job includes both management and liaison responsibilities. The manager will guide the members of the health science team in service provision and professional development, set team goals, and identify opportunities for improvement of services. This position reports to the Director for Research Services and is a non-tenure track position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  *   Leads the health sciences team.
  *   Collaborates with the Director for Research Services to coordinate hiring committees and create a team staffing plan.
  *   Collaborates with the team and the Director of Research Services to identify opportunities and prioritize team efforts.
  *   With the assistance of the team, builds strong relationships with faculty, staff, and students in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation and School of Social Work.
  *   Serves as a liaison.
  *   Leads the team in creating and maintaining learning and research resources.
  *   Participates in internal library activities like committees and task forces.
  *   Fosters a positive environment for team staff that includes a commitment to professional development.
  *   Works with the evidence synthesis team and the Director of Research Services to assess and fill the College of Nursing and Health Innovation and School of Social Work evidence synthesis needs.
  *   Collaborate with the Director of Research Services, Associate University Library, and the new Dean of Libraries to set unit priorities.
  *   Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

UTA Libraries encourages applications from all who meet the required qualifications but may not meet every preferred qualification.

  *   Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program in library or information science/studies.
  *   Two years of experience as a health science librarian, a liaison librarian, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications

  *   Supervisory, management or leadership experience.
  *   Experience working with health science information resources, especially CINAHL.
  *   Knowledge of Evidence Based Practice, Evidence Synthesis, and related concepts.
  *   Ability to foster positive work environments including a culture of employee wellness and learning.
  *   Familiarity with health science librarianship.
Work Schedule

  *   Monday-Friday; 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (approx.)
  *   Flexibility is required.
  *   Professional development, conferences, and training may require travel and/or overnight accommodations.
Working Conditions

  *   A hybrid office environment on a university campus.
  *   Opportunities for some remote work.
  *   Flexible work schedule.
