Queridos amigos:

Por mediación mía ha aparecido hoy en el principal periódico valenciano una necrológica dedicada a Francisco Ruiz Ramón, nacido en mi pueblo, Xàtiva, donde ya quedan pocos paisanos que recuerden haberlo tratado en su infancia. Os envío el recorte en formato pdf y jpg. Quizá haya servido un poco para dar a conocer en su propia tierra a un maestro de filólogos que vivió en tantas partes.

Dear Bob:  I first met Ruiz Ramón
 when he was teaching at Purdue University.  He later went on to University of Chicago, and, I believe, later to Vanderbilt University.
He was a good, penetrating scholar.  I have always admired him as a scholar, and he was a fine person, to boot.  R.I.P. Joseph V.  Ricapito, Yenni Distinguished
