Edward H. Friedman
Vanderbilt University
Position: Editor, BULLETIN OF THE COMEDIANTES
The Bulletin of the Comediantes, now entering its sixty-eighth year, invites applications for the position of Editor. Edward Friedman has served as editor since 1999. The current managing editor, Vincent Martin, has decided to give up his editorial position, and Cory Duclos of Colgate University has agreed to serve as interim managing editor during this transitional period. A five-member committee has been formed for the selection of an editor: Edward Friedman, current editor; James Parr, editor emeritus; and three members of the editorial advisory board, in alphabetical order: Charles Ganelin, Susana Hernández Araico, and Barbara Mujica.
The new editor will be in charge of content and oversight of all operations connected with publication and will establish the administrative structure of the journal. To date, the managing editor has handled production, subscriptions, mailings, and financial matters. Although the time factor involved in producing an issue depends on individual style and circumstances, the editor’s duties might be estimated to be on the order of an additional class each semester and work during vacations and the summer. The starting date would be as soon as possible after the appointment is made, but by January 1, 2016, at the latest.
The ideal candidate would be a mid-level Associate to Full Professor with an established record of publication related to the wide area of Comedia studies. Previous editorial experience is preferred. Please send a current c.v. (long version) and a statement of interest in the position (with any information that will demonstrate background and qualifications) by e-mail attachment to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> by September 30, 2015. Please feel free to consult with Edward Friedman with questions.
