I find all of the suggestions regarding future OM work very interesting and
exciting and I will send along an India contact (in Bangalore) soon but I'd
like to echo "t" who wrote (see below):
" just one more thing: I really wanted to know how can we further
reflect on the last conference. it seems that we are jumping at a
next stage without really thinking over the last one."
I would love to hear some more report backs and evaluation, or working group
follow-up to the last conference. This is useful for many reasons, and
without it, it is pretty difficult for those of us that cannot usually
attend the confab, to participate. I read one report back right after the
conference - but nothing since - perhaps I've overlooked something.
Thanks, Martha Wallner/California

hi ellie, all
we are going to sarai in november
http://www.sarai.net/
there is also a new space being opened in bangalore
we are about to start a collaboration between india and brazil
I'll wait for your proposal so that I can send it to them as I am sure
they will want to be involved
just one more thing: I really wanted to know how can we further
reflect on the last conference. it seems that we are jumping at a
next stage without really thinking over the last one. I think
somebody suggested that the polymedia group reassembled
through the list... but I was never from the polymedia list, only
this one, and I am afraid that if we continue the discussion separately
the process will be always *obscure*.
my suggestion will be that we set a group to work and a site
maybe the wiki or the future one with concrete reflections regarding
format, local knowledge, post-network strategies, latin-american issues
and so on.
this work is really relevant for places that need to build up
their network capacities..
x thanks, obrigada, gracias, namaste

A group of OM people have begun to put together a proposal to hold OM V
in India. I plan to distribute a full proposal in the coming week. Are there
any OM members on this list who would like to contribute ideas/contacts to
the proposal at this stage?
The OM website has the following members listed under India:
Ashish Sen, VOICES
Arum Aran, The Hindu
* Suchi Kothari, University of Auckland, New Zealand
* Bella Mody, Michigan State University, USA
I am very interested to hear from these members and other
activists/researchers/funders who are involved with groups there.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Ellie.
