Dear OURMedia friends:

I am very happy to announce the new OM wiki titled Alternative Media Global Project (http://skamp.domainepublic.net/Benjamin/start). This project emerged in 2007 as an initiative of Benjamin Ferron (Doctoral student at the University of Rennes), R.E. Davis (Doctoral student at the University of Oklahoma) and Clemencia Rodriguez (Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma). In the last few years, we have become familiar with the numerous initiatives, academic work, and contributions of the OURMedia/NuestrosMedios global network (www.ourmedianet.org<http://www.ourmedianet.org/>); with this wiki we intend to centralize all these rich resources and make them available to the entire community.

The most developed element in the wiki is a OM bibliography. We have started by organizing and classifying the bibliographies of the following authors: Chris Atton, Ellie Rennie, John Downing, Erik Neveu, Scott Uzelman, David Skinner, Andy Opel, Kevin Howley, Nick Couldry, Andrea Langlois, and Clemencia Rodriguez (thanks to all for donating your Word or pdf files!).

The wiki also includes other less developed elements that we hope to expand in the coming months--with your help. These include a global inventory and map of community/alternative/citizens' media and a chronology.

Also, we will be looking for regional correspondents to incorporate more regional and local sources that only circulate at local levels. Much of this, we hope, will be done at OM7 in Ghana. So far we have correspondents in Africa (1), Brazil (2), Canada (1), Colombia (1), France (1), Italy (1), Mexico (1), Israel (1), and the USA (1).

Thanks to all who have contributed and will contribute!

Estimados/as Amigos/as de OURMedia/NuestrosMedios

Muchisimas gracias a quienes hayan contribuido y van a contribuir!
