It was exciting for me to open the fall edition of the Oklahoma English Journal and see that three of our OWP teacher consultants had articles published. Congratulations to Jane Fisher and former students, Gage Jeter, and Michelle Boyd Waters on their new publications.

Equally as exciting was the editors' call for manuscripts for the spring 2017 edition. The editors are calling for manuscripts specifically from Oklahoma Writing Project teachers. Below are the editors' own words.

"We would like to highlight the work of the Oklahoma Writing Project, and we look forward to manuscripts that detail how your experiences with OWP have changed your teaching and research. What professional development moments have positively shaped your teaching? What other professional supports have informed your instruction of writing?"

Some of the guidelines for submissions: Note that this is a print journal.

  * Theoretically based and pedagogically applicable
  * Articles, including references and appendices, should be kept under 12 pages (longer papers may be published when justified)
  * Poetry, prose, teacher narratives, graphic stories, and student work welcomed
  * Brief writing tips may be considered, up to 500 words
  * Submissions of original work should be double-spaced with ample margins and should follow current MLA or APA style guidelines. Submissions must also adhere to the NCYE Guidelines for Non-Sexist Use of Language. Include a brief biographical sketch of the author(s) upon submission.
  * Submissions should be sent electronically to [log in to unmask]

Wouldn't it be wonderful in the spring to see the journal filled with articles from OWP teacher consultants!
