Colleagues,
The statement is a wonderful discourse on the value of a journalism/mass communications degree program and its place in a research university. However, I have no idea what precipitates the letter. Is the CU program being threatened with closure? An ill-advised reorganization? Decision to drop accreditation? What?

Dear Commission and MAC Members:
AEJMC is considering issuing a statement regarding the Journalism Program at
the University of Colorado. Drafters of the statement are asking for a
quick response before the end the week.
Some of the other divisions started posting and exchanging ideas earlier
today. I wanted to give you the same opportunity to provide feedback prior
to a final decision being made regarding the attached statement.
Tomorrow, I will leave for Albuquerque to attend the AEJMC Winter Board
meeting. But please send in your feedback so that I can share the
sentiments of the groups.
Thank you,
Linda

We are asking for your reply this week!
AEJMC is considering issuing the attached statement. You are receiving this
copy because president Jan Slater would like your input as the PF&R chair
for an AEJMC unit.
It is also being sent to your chair, but we need to hear from you.
When you decide if your group would like to comment, let us know.
Your reply will go to me (vice-head of the Standing Committee on PR&R) and
Lillie Fears (member of the Standing Committee on PF&R) and we will report
to AEJMC president Jan Slater.
Please let us know
..reply with your comment or reply with no comment, statement is acceptable.
Thanks for your help,
Kathy
