I would love to see the convention fundraiser institutionalized. Thanks
Meta!

Dear friends,

Our listserv has not seen this much action in a long time. What a
statement this makes about how much Lee meant to us all, and the
eloquent tributes that have been shared have touch us all, I'm sure.
Thanks, everyone, and keep it going.

While we sort through our course of action to honor our dear friend and
colleague in the short-term, I wanted to share these thoughts about
where we might go from here.

In short, we could use a signature event, much like CSW has with its
annual "Wild Women" silent auction and scholarship fundrasier, if we
want to build and expand Lee's scholarship fund. Years ago, when AEJ met
in Arizona, MAC sponsored a mixer [OK, it was a party!] that was open to
all divisions and well-attended..could this be a fundraiser? The year
that Jan Dates served as AEJMC President she sponsored a reception and
raised a few thousand dollars for the Barrow scholarship...could this be
institutionalized?

There are many more creative ideas out there, I'm sure, than what I have
proposed. But it might be worth having an extended discussion about,
realizing we are only limited by our imagination and action.

Sincerely,
Meta
