Subject: MAC Constitution Update - Let me hear from you!!!

Members,

As you will recall at the last MAC business meeting, I suggested that the MAC Constitution and By-Laws need to be updated.

To bring you up to date, I have managed to acquire a copy of the original document that is on file at AEJMC. It appears to be the original document filed with AEJMC in the early 70s.

There are a couple of steps I think we should take in proceeding with this revision.

First, we can begin by having those MAC members come forward who were present at past business meetings where changes to the Bylaws were made (voted and approved). That is, if you can recall being at a meeting where a change(s) was voted on, then I need to hear from you. There's a chance that I can go back and pull the newsletters containing the minutes where this info was recorded and begin filling in some of the gaps.

If you believe that you have some information (e.g., convention year, Who was MAC head, etc.) that can aid me with this research, then please contact me by February 15, 2007 with your "tip". After I've heard from some of you by the deadline, I will follow-up with whatever leads I get. The next step will be that of me organizing a committee to begin revising the document.

My goal is to have the draft ready by summer and to get a vote on a final version at our meeting in D.C. It would be nice if we could finish this project before my term ends or before September 30, 2007.

So let me hear from you!

And thatnk for caring about the business of the MAC Division!

I am sincerely,
Lillie Mae Fears
