Everyone:

        I think MAC should take the lead addressing plagiarism and be sure to
point out what appears to be double standards. While Jayson Blair is being
condemned for his transgressions, Stephen Glass of the New Republic is
actually profiting from his years of plagiarism at the New Republic. He has
written a book about it, and I understand he appeared on 60 Minutes. At the
same time our friend William McGowan, the author of Coloring the News, the
book we condemned last year, is using Blair as an example of why diversity
is wrong.
