Subject: OUMM: Invitation to 3rd Annual OK Supercomputing Symposium

TO: OU Faculty & Staff

Information Technology at The University of Oklahoma and the OU
Supercomputing Center for Education & Research (OSCER) would like to
invite you and your colleagues to attend the Third Annual Oklahoma
Supercomputing Symposium 2004 http://symposium2004.oscer.ou.edu/.
This free event, which will be held at the Thurman J. White Forum
Building, 1704 Asp Ave., on the South OU campus, in Norman, will take
place on Wednesday, October 6th and Thursday, October 7th, and will
offer supercomputing professionals numerous sessions, with a focus
on Applications and Systems.

To attend the Supercomputing Symposium 2004, please register online at
http://symposium2004.oscer.ou.edu/. You will be able to view the
agenda, which will allow you to plan the events and sessions that will
be
most beneficial to you. Lunch and a banquet on Wednesday, as well as
breakfast on Thursday, are being provided by the sponsors, as well as
event shirts for participants who pre-register.

One of this years keynote speakers will be Sangtae Kim, the inaugural
director of the Division of Shared Cyberinfrastructure, a new division
in
the National Science Foundations Computer and Information Science and
Engineering Directorate.

In addition to the presentations and speakers in attendance,
the Supercomputing Symposium 2004 will feature a poster session,
networking banquet and welcoming reception, sponsored by Intel, which
includes a tour of OSCERs new facility in the Stephenson Research
Center. Posters will cover a variety of topics pertaining to
Computational
Science & Engineering (including computational research in every field
of
engineering, physical science, biological science, social science and
business), High Performance Computing (HPC), High Performance
Networking, Grid Computing, and HPC education.

Students -- graduate and undergraduate -- who are interested in these
areas, are also invited to attend. This is a great opportunity to
introduce
your students to conferences, especially because there is not cost to
attend. You are most welcome to forward this invitation to others you
know who might be interested in attending.
