ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR IN COMMUNICATION, TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY, DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION.
The Department of Communication at Texas A&M University invites applications for a Tenure Track Associate or Full Professor in Communication starting in the Fall semester of 2016. We are interested in scholars whose work addresses issues of communication and democratic practice in public or health contexts. We have a particular interest in scholars whose work aligns with international, national and regional issues including, but not limited to, citizen engagement, civic literacy, deliberation, race and political culture, political communication, border conditions, technology and democratic process, health disparities and access, immigration and health, culture-centered approaches to health, and/or the relationship of technology to health behaviors and policies. Preference will be given to candidates with a history of external grant submissions and funding and who have expertise in quantitative research methods. A PhD and strong record of scholarship and teaching are required; successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the department in the areas of teaching, research, and service.
The department offers the PhD, MA, BA and BS degrees, and has 23 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, more than 45 graduate students, and over 1200 undergraduate majors.
