The nationally recognized School of Journalism & Broadcasting at Western Kentucky University is seeking a full-time, 9-month, tenure-eligible assistant professor with a terminal degree and experience in narrative film/video production. The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following specializations: film directing, cinematography and/or producing as well as skill sets such as photography, video and audio editing and some design that will qualify the candidate to teach core curriculum courses.

We seek a visual storyteller who is excited to work with our faculty, students and staff to fulfill the School of Journalism & Broadcasting's mission of preparing students for careers in a changing media environment. Employment begins in August 2017.
School of Journalism & Broadcasting students have a long tradition of winning awards in the Hearst, AP and SPJ competitions, and the School features a number of nationally-recognized programs. Western Kentucky University is located in Bowling Green, KY.
Responsibilities: In addition to teaching advanced film production electives (directing, cinematography, producing) and film workshop courses (which produce 12-18 six minute films per semester), the successful candidate will also teach core-curriculum courses required of School of Journalism & Broadcasting freshmen. The successful candidate will be required to produce consistent research/creative work necessary to achieve tenure. Other responsibilities include student advising and service to the School and University.
.Qualifications: A terminal degree (MFA or PhD) appropriate to the appointment and a minimum of two years of professional filmmaking experience. Candidates should have some teaching experience in a university or professional setting.
