The School of Communications and Theater at Temple University invites
applications from senior faculty for the position of Chair for the schoolıs
Department of Strategic and Organizational Communication (StOC).
This tenured faculty position plays a key role in a rapidly growing
department with 10 full-time faculty members and 300 undergraduate majors in
public communication, public relations, and organizational leadership. The
department also offers an innovative M.S. in Communication Management. StOC
is one of six departments in a diverse and dynamic School of Communications
and Theater with 3,500 undergraduate and graduate students. Faculty holding
a Ph.D. participate in the schoolıs interdisciplinary doctoral program in
Mass Media and Communication. The university community at large includes
more than 33,000 students at the main campus and at several international
campuses.
We seek a colleague with the relevant background and the dedication, vision,
and leadership skills to guide the department in its mission to train
students to study the theory, practice, ethics, and significance of social
influence, particularly in a diverse, technology-driven, and global setting.
