Great to know Meta. You are in my prayers.

Friends,
I think I may be the only MACer in this area, but if not, perhaps others will chime in. I have received so many private inquiries from friends that I thought I would communicate to everyone.

Thankfully, I and my family members in the area are fine. We dodged two significant tornado threats in the past couple of days that went around us. We were without power for a few hours yesterday, but that was it. Heavy rain is coming down in the area now, but we all hope the worst is behind us.

However, the city of Moore is 10 minutes away from campus and as a university comunity we are grappling with who might have been affected and how we can help. I have a staff colleague who lost her home yesterday and was trapped for a few hours in a storm shelter that luckily save her life. Other colleagues have some home damage but are safe. OU has opened up dorms for displaced students, staffers and faculty members. Some of our students are helping cover the unfolding events.

Thanks for all of your concerns. Keep your prayers and good wishes coming for those directly affected.

Sincerely,
Meta
