Sponsored by the Elected Committee on Teaching

Information gathering is vital to journalism and mass communication.

As English author and poet Rudyard Kipling wrote:

I keep six honest serving-men;
(They taught me all I knew)
Their names are What and Why and When
And How and Where and Who.
I send them over land and sea,
I send them east and west;
But after they have worked for me,
I give them all a rest.

[From "The Elephant's Child" in Just So Stories, Doubleday, 1907, page
85)

The AEJMC Elected Committee on Teaching is looking for Best Practices in
the Teaching of Information Gathering. Information gathering covers
strategies, skills, methods, concepts and theories relating to the
process of collecting, collating and analyzing information in
journalism, mass communication and other fields.

The AEJMC Teaching Committee will select winning entries for publication
and invite winners to present their ideas at the 2008 AEJMC convention
in Chicago (Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile), August 6-9,
2008.

Showcase your best ideas with your colleagues and win a cash prize!
