The Department of Journalism in the School of Communications and Theater at
Temple University seeks four dynamic faculty members to contribute to its
urban journalism mission at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the
following areas:

1)   Special Appointment Faculty: a continuing, renewable, professional
faculty position, at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank, to teach
broadcast news writing, reporting, and newsroom management and producing
courses. In addition, the successful candidate will work with our new
Multimedia Urban Reporting Lab (MURL). Extensive professional experience
required.  

2)   Deanıs Appointment: a multi-year faculty position for a non-tenure
track Instructor or Assistant Professor to teach audio and video reporting
techniques for a new departmental core course. In addition, the successful
candidate will be able to teach courses in online journalism and/or
broadcast journalism.

3)   Deanıs Appointment: a multi-year faculty position for a non-tenure
track Assistant or Associate Professor to teach new media journalism
courses, including publishing to the web, electronic information gathering,
and computer assisted reporting.  In addition, the successful candidate
should be able to develop upper-level online journalism classes.

4)   Deanıs Appointment: a multi-year faculty position for a non-tenure
track Instructor or Assistant Professor to teach magazine courses in
writing, editing and/or design. In addition, the successful candidate should
be able to teach upper-level journalism courses in communication theory and
critical media analysis.

The Department of Journalism is an ACEJMC-accredited program located in a
vibrant major media market. The department offers concentrations in
news-editorial, magazine, broadcast journalism and photography for the mass
media. The department has recently established the Multimedia Urban
Reporting Lab (MURL) to serve as its capstone experience. MURL is located in
a dedicated, state-of-the art facility on the Universityıs downtown campus.

interest in one of the positions and relevant professional and/or academic
background 2) a signed c.v. or resume 3) three letters of recommendation
sent directly to the search chair 4) an official transcript indicating most
recent degree received.
