Faculty Search Announcement
Indiana University's School of Journalism on the Bloomington campus
seeks
applications for multiple positions in journalism, mass communication,
and
new media, with varied areas of emphasis in teaching, research and
creative
activity. The school will consider applicants for all levels of
appointment,
including tenured (based upon successful review by the school and the
university) and tenure track.
Because Indiana is a research university, faculty members in

conduct significant and interesting research or creative activity.
Applicants also should have professional and/or teaching experience in
their
field of expertise and be committed to teaching, service, and research
or
creative activity.
Rank and salary for each position will depend on academic and
professional
qualifications and experience. The positions begin in August 2008,
though a
January 2009 starting date is also possible.
The School of Journalism offers bachelor's and master's degrees in
journalism as well as a Ph.D. in mass communication. At this large,
state
university in the hills of southern Indiana, the School is a relatively
small and respected unit with 20 full-time, tenure-track or tenured
faculty
members, half of whom will be eligible for retirement over the next five
years. The School has a growing enrollment of about 700 undergraduates
and
75 graduate students. The faculty consists of a seasoned group of
educators
with a wide range of professional backgrounds and research interests.
The
university and school are noted for their research programs and are
equipped
with state-of-the art resources for instruction and research. For more
information, see the school's website at
