Nature of Position       Public Relations: Advertising and Public Relations Program seeks to fill an Assistant Professor tenure-track position to begin August 1, 2012 or thereafter.
Teach courses in two of the following areas: introduction to public relations, public relations writing, advertising andpublic relations research, public relations cases, design, or public relations campaigns. Publish research and perform service assignments. Ph.D. in Communications or related field required. Evidence or promise of research productivity. Professional experience in public relations and university teaching desirable.

The University             The University of Tennessee enrolls about 27,000 students at its Knoxville campus. The institution welcomes and honors people of all races, creeds, cultures and sexual orientations, and values intellectual curiosity, pursuit of knowledge, and academic freedom and integrity.

The College                 The College of Communication and Information consistsof four schools: the School of Advertising and Public Relations, the School of Journalism and Electronic Media, the School of Information Science, and theSchool of Communication Studies.

Students affiliate with the School of Advertising and Public Relations in their sophomore year. The School maintains separate curriculums for advertising and public relations students and offers a major in each discipline. The School currently has 15 full-time faculty members. TheSchool participates in the College's M.S. and Ph.D. programs in Communication and Information.
