Hello all,

It's that time of year again: The AEJMC Midwinter Conference call for papers! I'm really excited about this year's conference and I hope you are as well.

Why submit to Midwinter? Here are my main two reasons:

1) It helps keep you on track.
We've all been there. Research is exciting, but unfortunately it's also easy to postpone. After all, AEJ is months away, but graded assignments are a tad more urgent. Midwinter is a great way to help yourself. The Midwinter submission deadline is November 30th, and it's only an abstract. Start there, and finish the study for conference.

2) It's a great chance for feedback.
Midwinter is a very feedback-friendly conference, and many people have said they don't feel the type of pressure that they do at AEJ and ICA. It's a good environment for constructive criticism, and it's especially
good for grad students (particularly those who are looking to ease into the conference process).

3) You can present it again in D.C.
Submit a paper to Midwinter, find out what issues you still need to address and how you can strengthen your paper, and then submit it again in April to the national AEJMC conference. The added bonus is that you'll be
ahead of everyone else scrambling frantically in March to finish their paper by April 1st.

If you have any questions/concerns, please don't hesitate to ask.
