Greetings One and All:

Please find attached the 2008 application for the Online News Association
Student Newsroom. The ONA conference will be held September 11-13, 2008 in
Washington DC. Please encourage your students to participate. This is an
exceptional way for them to practice their multimedia skills as well as
build their online portfolios. The application deadline is May 16.

This year the students who are selected will participate in a summer social
networking experience complete with tutorials. In addition, students will
visit the Washington Post Newsweek Interactive. Finally and most
importantly, the students will receive free conference registration for
their commitment.

We also need faculty and professional mentors to work with the students. We
are very grateful for your time and you will NOT be expected to stay in the
student newsroom the entire time. You will be free to enjoy the conference.
The students will keep in touch with you electronically. Please let me know
if you are willing to help.

We hope you will attend the conference as well. Executive Director Lori
Schwab and a team of dedicated professionals are putting together a very
relevant and practical conference. You will learn a great deal and the
opportunity for networking with media innovators will be invaluable. To
register: http://journalists.org/2008conference/archives/001041.php

Please publicize, post and share this information with other professional
associations and listservs, thank you for your support.

Peace,

Sybril
